Matilde Oppizzi

Matilde Oppizzi is born in Vigevano (PV) in 1991. She studied guitar at Pavia Conservatory where she obtained the degree with honors. She did also a masterclass along with various great guitarists such as Sharon Isbin, Carlo Marchione, Claudio Marcotulli, Aldo Minella and many others.

She played in many halls and theaters both in Italy and abroad, as soloist and with various chamber ensembles. She has been a member of the Kythara Consort, the first Italian guitar orchestra. Nowadays she’s part of Chords Duo (guitar and cembalo), at the moment one of the most representative ensembles.

She combines a teaching activity as well: besides being a teacher in public school, she has been tutor of guitar class of the I.S.S.M. of Pavia. In addition to that, she has held seminars and conferences in important institutions such as highSCORE Festival (Italy), Kimball Union Academy (USA), University of North Carolina School of the Arts (USA) to list a few.
